What a 1st snowy day of March, the beast from the east has arrived! This time last year would have looked very different.
As of the 4th of March, Smarty Paws has officially been open 1 year!
First of all I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the gorgeous doggies and their lovely owners for their custom, loyalty and support for Smarty Paws in its first year of business in Beeston. I really have had the time of my life!
I am delighted with the positive response and wonderful reviews received from so many customers in person and on Smarty Paws Facebook page.
Looking back, I don’t think I could have had a better 1st year in business, it’s all still so overwhelming and incredible!
Many of you would have seen Candy in the salon, or had your dogs groomed by her, she has been with me since last April. After being an air hostess for over 20 years, she wanted a change of career and together we have been able to achieve this for her! Dog Grooming is a great career for Candy’s lifestyle as her husband is in the Army, and as their family head off to the next posting, she can continue to do a career she loves wherever she goes! It’s never too late to follow your dreams. She has been an inspiration, a sister, a friend and wonderful support in my first year of business. Wishing her the best of luck!
Going forward, with business growing and Smarty Paws being in high demand, I’ve recently been venturing into possibility of hiring somebody. This has proven quite challenging, as I see all my furry clients as family and they are all so precious to me, so until the right person comes along please bear this in mind and pre-book throughout the year to ensure you get all the dates/times preferred.
Saturday 22nd December and Monday 24th December 2018 are already fully booked!
This unfortunately also means when I’m having a break/holiday the salon will be closed.
Pursuing my career and dreams last year hasn’t really given me much time or chance to do other things I’m passionate about. I also want to make a difference outside of work, to have a wider perspective on life. In August 2018, I plan to go on a volunteer mission trip to serve alongside a Christian organisation called Family Impact and other ministries in Zimbabwe.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, your support and to those who recommend Smarty Paws to their friends and continue to spread the word.
Happy March!
